Jennifer Murray-Smith

Jennifer Murray-Smith is delighted to be joining DGASS for the first time, and thrilled to be playing Mabel, a role she first performed at the age of 17. G&S has always held a firm place in her heart and, whilst studying, she took multiple principal soprano roles with the University of St Andrews G&S, Peak Opera in Buxton and Edinburgh Fringe company Happy-Go-Lucky Theatre. More recently she played Yum-Yum in The Mikado and Hebe in HMS Pinafore with EDGAS.

Jennifer achieved a LLCM in performance in 2016, and her operatic engagements have included Lucia in The Rape of Lucretia, Susan in A Dinner Engagement, and Lady Milhouse in The Minister with the Byre Opera Company. In musical theatre she has played the Baker’s Wife in Into the Woods, Lucy in The Threepenny Opera and Sarah Brown in Guys and Dolls, and is currently preparing the role of Annie in Calendar Girls with Forest Theatre Company. When not singing, Jennifer can be found in the business school at Glasgow Caledonian University where she is a lecturer in Marketing.
