Queensferry Festival

Queensferry Music Society invite you to their mini folk festival on Saturday 30 September from 4:00pm–8:00pm at St Margaret’s Lodge, 3 Stoneycroft Road, South Queensferry EH30 9HX (behind the bowling club). “A relaxed, informal vibe where people can talk as well as listen.”

Four top-class professional acts – Jamie Laval, U.S. National Scottish Fiddle Champion, who captivates his audiences with passionate, virtuosic performances and engaging stories; Tunna, who perform an exciting mix of original and traditional tunes taking their audience across the genres; and Nick Jenkins, who plays intricate, fast, folk music on the fiddle – plus groups from local high schools.

From 1.30pm–3.30pm, there’s also a unique opportunity for young (S1-S6) strings or wind players to try their hand at traditional music in the workshop led by June Nelson of Scottish Fiddle Orchestra. Students learn a tune on the day, then play it at the event later!
