Auditions 2027

Auditions for principal parts in our production of The Gondoliers in February 2027 are being held from 7:00pm on Wednesday 20 May and from 2:30pm on Sunday 24 May in the Gelet Hall at the rear of our usual rehearsal venue of Limekilns Parish Church. To book your slot, please e-mail Ellen Patrick (ellenpatrick54@gmail.com).

For the audition, choose from the parts on offer (see our Cast page) and prepare the musical numbers and dialogue given in the linked documents.

If you don’t have a libretto, you can download the free-of-copyright libretto referred to in the Audition Pieces document at this link. For those without a vocal score, search for the Chappell vocal score at IMSLP via this link … or ask Ellen.

Note that you don’t need to audition to join our chorus, and we’re always happy to welcome new members, whatever their level of experience … just come prepared to enjoy yourself!

Rehearsals will be starting at the end of August. Based on previous years, it’s likely that we’ll start the first rehearsal by having a cup of tea and a catch-up with everyone from 7.00pm, with a view to singing around 8.00pm with musical director, Eddie MacLennan. We also expect that Linda Milne, our director, will be on hand to give us an introduction to her vision for The Gondoliers.

Next appearance

You’ve just missed a chance to see the Society on stage, but we’ll be back at Carnegie on 18–20 February 2027 with a sparkling production of that perennial favourite, The Gondoliers.
